This is a comparative list of 210 words in English, Hindi, Urdu, Pashtu, Pashto and Pukhtu.

Hindi and Urdu are the same spoken language, but are written in entirely different alphabets for religious and political reasons. Pashtu, Pashto are Pukhtu really a family of languages, rather than a unified language, spoken by Pathan tribes in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This word list may not be perfect, but I wish I had had this with me when I first started traveling in that region of the world. - Ismail Sloan
